How to Program the Honda Auto Lock/Unlock Feature

There are many customizable features in Honda vehicles that some owners aren’t even aware of.

Honda vehicles are a class above the rest, and that claim is backed by the fact that Honda vehicles include a number of different features that some Honda owners aren’t even aware of. Every Honda vehicle can be programmed and customized to increase the already high level of convenience that comes standard in every Honda vehicle. One of the customizable features is the auto lock and unlock. You have the ability to adjust the locking and unlocking features in your Honda, and to assist you in completing that task, we’re providing you with information on how to program the Honda auto lock/unlock feature.

You have the ability to change when you want your car to lock and unlock, and if your car is already locking and unlocking and you want to shut it off, you also have that option. The following list includes everything that you need to know about how to program the auto lock/unlock feature in your Honda vehicle. At the top you will see the programmable feature, and below are the steps that you must take in order to activate that feature.

 

Program doors to unlock when you turn the car off

  • 1. Close the driver’s door. Put the shift lever in Park and turn the ignition into the On (II) position.
  • 2. While pressing the brake, move the shift lever out of Park.
  • 3. Press and hold the unlock side of the master locks switch for approximately 10 seconds. In that time, you will hear three clicks.
  • 4. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the lock (0) position.

Program doors to unlock when you shift into Park

  • 1. Close the driver’s door and shift the vehicle into Park.
  • 2. Turn the ignition to On (II), then press and hold the unlock side of the master lock switch for approximately 10 seconds. You will hear three clicks.
  • 3. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the Lock position.

Program doors to lock when you reach 9 mph

  • 1. Close the driver’s door and put the shifter in Park. Turn the ignition to the On (II) position.
  • 2. While pressing on the brake, move the shifter out of Park.
  • 3. Then, press and hold the lock side of the master lock switch for about five seconds until you hear two clicks.
  • 4. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the Lock position.

Program all doors to lock when you shift out of Park

  • 1. Close the driver’s door and put the car in Park.
  • 2. Turn the ignition to the On (II) position.
  • 3. Press and hold the lock side of the master lock switch for five seconds until you hear two clicks.
  • 4. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the Lock position.

Turn off Auto Unlock

  • 1. Open the driver’s door and put the shifter in Park.
  • 2. Turn the ignition to On (II).
  • 3. Press and hold the unlock side of the master lock switch for five seconds until you hear two clicks.
  • 4. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the Lock position.

Turn off Auto Lock

  • 1. Open the driver’s door and put the shifter in Park.
  • 2. Turn the ignition to On (II).
  • 3. Press and hold the lock side of the master lock for about five seconds until you hear two clicks.
  • 4. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the Lock position.

Program driver’s door to unlock when you shift into park

  • 1. Close the driver’s door. Put the shift lever in Park.
  • 2. Turn the ignition to the On (II) position.
  • 3. Press and hold the lock side of the master lock switch for about five seconds – you will hear two clicks.
  • 4. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the Lock position.

Program driver’s door to unlock when you turn the car off

  • 1. Close the driver’s door. Put the shift lever n Park. Turn the ignition to the On (II) position.
  • 2. While pressing the brake, move the shifter out of Park.
  • 3. Press and hold the lock side of the master lock switch for about five seconds – you will hear two clicks.
  • 4. Within five seconds, turn the ignition to the Lock position
