2016 Honda Civic Production Vehicle List of Specs and Performance

The newest generation of the Honda Civic has been introduced through the Honda Civic concept at the New York Auto Show. It is the vehicle that shocked the world on April Fool’s Day and then continued to shock them after they realized that the neon green car was no joke. It has an impressive look with a Tron-like taillight. We doubt the light will be a part of the 2016 Honda Civic production vehicle list of specs and performance features, but we are excited to see a sportier lineup.

This new concept vehicle marks the return to more performance-based Civics and the 5-door model. More importantly for the performance minded drivers out there, the Honda Civic Type-R is coming across the pond for the first time ever. Once they give it to us, they likely won’t be able to take it back, we hope.

So what does this mean for the Civic itself. Well it would appear that the new Civic will have an extended hood and wheelbase. New options for engines and transmissions will come along with this, including a turbocharged engine. The Turbo will come in the form of a 1.5L four-cylinder that is paired with a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission.

The full stats on the performance components for the upper trim levels has not yet been discussed, but we imagine that they will improve the Civic on the whole for the trim that comes with the turbo. The Civic will also come with upgrades in apps, technology and safety features.

As the compact sedan has aged over the years, it has continued to prove itself as a top contender in the class, often providing some of the best fuel-efficiency, power and overall quality. It is spacious for the segment and offers many advanced features. If it’s constant improvement is any indication, we can expect to see some extensive changes for the better with the 2016 Honda Civic.
