What kind of car is the 2019 Honda Insight?

As a model, the Honda Insight isn’t new to the automaker or to Matt Castrucci Honda. The first Honda Insight was available in dealerships around the country as far back as 1999. It was punctuated by incredible fuel economy scores and a highly aerodynamic exterior. Some 20 years later, the manufacturer is exploring the possibility of bringing it back. So, what kind of car is the 2019 Honda Insight? A high-altitude view of the prototype reveals a five-passenger, four-door sedan but Honda appears to be positioning the 2019 Insight to be much more than that. As of right now, it appears the Honda Insight is still in the early stages of development, so the Matt Castrucci Honda Blog is not able to confirm when – or if – it will be coming to our dealership. Honda Insight Hybrid Discontinued

We have some bad news for all of the Honda Insight lovers out there, Honda has just announced that they will be taking the Honda Insight out of production this year, meaning that the 2014 Honda Insight will be the last of the models to be manufactured. If you’ve been looking to get a Honda hybrid, however, don’t worry as Honda has also announced their plans to expand hybrid research using systems similar to those found in the discontinued Honda Insight hybrid.

As we said, the 2014 Honda Insight will continue to be produced to fill the steady demand for the most affordable hybrid in America, but the automaker will halt production on the Insight at the end of the summer. With an MSRP of $18,725, it’s easy to see why so many consumers chose the Insight over all the other hybrids on the market. There hasn’t been any word of whether or not the Insight will make a return after Honda advances their technology, but we will be sure to let you know if we hear anything. (more…)
