A More Performance-Based Lineup of Honda Vehicles
Just a short while after revealing the new Honda Civic Concept, Honda is giving us another vehicle to get excited about with the Concept D SUV. It is a full-size SUV but takes on a more rounded and aggressive look than the 2016 Honda Pilot. The gold laden SUV is a shiny example of Honda’s creativity and their determination to return to a more performance-based lineup of Honda vehicles.
Not much has been said about the new vehicle, not even why they decided to make it so golden, except for the fact that it offers advanced technology. We haven’t been told anything about this technology or what it does. For all we know it could turn lead into gold, hence the paint job. Though we seriously doubt that Honda has been dabbling in Alchemy lately.
Though Honda hasn’t said much, we will. At least in terms of the looks. It certainly takes on an appearance that we haven’t seen in anything out there before. it offers an almost completely continuous window from the hood all the way to the rear bumper and has a spoiler that is placed unusually far forward.
The bumper also offers an interesting perspective on an aspect of automobiles that we don’t often see much change in. We aren’t sure if the gaping holes are there for better aerodynamic performance or just to look like the back of the SUV is bearing its teeth at every vehicle it passes.
And though some may gawk at the overly gold vehicle and brave designs, we find that it is exactly that, brave. We applaud Honda for its continued exploration into new designs as the automaker strives for unattainable goal of perfection. Where other automakers may have stopped short, Honda is saying, why not at least give it a shot, we might learn something.
