2017 Honda Civic Performance Upgrades
The 2017 Honda Civic Coupe and Sedan arrived in showrooms this month with some pretty impressive looks. The 2017 Honda Civic performance upgrades have come in the form of a new transmission and a turbocharged engine. These updates allow customers to have more options when looking to get a new Civic. Take a look at what these improvements mean for the 2017 Honda Civic.
2017 Honda Civic Sedan and Coupe Engine
The 10th generation of the Civic will still include the Coupe and the Sedan models, but each of these body styles will receive a new engine. The Honda Civic Sedan and Coupe EX-T will now come equipped with a six-speed manual transmission paired with a 1.5-liter direct-injected and turbocharged DOHC engine producing a peak 174 hp and 167 lb.-ft. of torque – up 5 lb.-ft. compared to models equipped with the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The CVT remains an option for drivers, though. It is available on the turbocharged EX-T trims, and standard on the EX-L and Touring. This new option will open doors for drivers who are looking to have a little more pick-me-up in their new Civic.
2017 Honda Civic Transmission Expansion
Honda expands the application of manual transmissions for the 2017 Civic models. Customers now have expanded choices with the addition of a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment on the turbocharged Civic Sedan and Coupe. Drivers may also upgrade their engine from a 1.5-liter to a 2.0-liter DOHC in-line 4-cylinder with i-VTEC™ for even more power. The Coupe and the Sedan are designed to provide highly responsive and refined driving, no matter the engine option or transmission chosen. Each 2017 Honda Civic has been fine-tuned in its engineering to deliver precise handling and power.
2017 Honda Civic Sedan and Coupe Safety Features
Continuing the application of Honda Sensing™, these safety features will be standard on the Civic Sedan and Coupe Touring trims and available on all Sedan trims. This suite of safety features includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS™), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) integrated with RDM, Forward Collision Warning (FCW) integrated with CMBS, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). These systems are designed to prevent and assist in the event of a collision, keeping you more secure on the road.
